Interfacing Audio Induction Loop amplifiers with the various sources of signal available in complex installations can be a serious problem for installers. To ensure that this can be solved, AMPETRONIC supplies a range of adaptors to simplify the interfacing of various types of signal. The range divides in two distinct types, adapting high-level signals to the standard inputs and interfacing microphones.
High-Level Adaptors
In many installations it is not possible to obtain a standard line-level signal and only the speaker lines are available. Three different adaptors cater to these requirements.
ATT30 Adaptor
This is an adaptor that is intended to interface a low impedance speaker output to AMPETRONIC Induction Loop Drivers and Preamplifiers. While a direct connection at line level is to be preferred for reasons of signal-noise ratio, there are instances where only a loudspeaker feed is available.
- Resistive attenuation and coupling
- Input impedance 200 kW
- Effective attenuation: 30 dB
- Input: Special 3-Way connector
- Output: 6.3 mm Stereo Plug
ATT100 Adaptor
This is an adaptor for converting the signal from 100 Volt Speaker lines to line level in a form suitable for AMPETRONIC Induction Loop Drivers and Preamplifiers. While a direct connection at the line level is to be preferred for reasons of signal-noise, there are instances where only a 100 Volt feed is available.
- Resistive attenuation and coupling
- Input impedance 660 kW
- Effective attenuation: 40 dB
- Input: Special 3-Way connector
- Output: 6.3 mm Stereo Plug
ATT100-T70 Adaptor
This unit is designed to interface 100V speaker line systems to the microphone input of the ILD20 / ILD60 amplifiers. Full transformer isolation is provided.
- Input impedance: 30 kW
- Effective attenuation: 70 dB
- Input: Special 3-pole Connector
- Output: 3.5 mm Mono Plug
- Also available ATT100-T60 for Low Z speaker line to microphone input and ATT-T40 for line level to microphone input
Microphone Adaptors
AMPETRONIC supplies a range of inexpensive microphones based on electret capsules. These are single-ended and therefore can normally only be used with our ILD20 / ILD60 amplifiers. The MAT1 & MAT1/DC are designed to connect these microphones to long, balanced lines, using professional XLR connectors with phantom power or external power. Some installations of the ILD20 / ILD60 require standard balanced line microphones using XLR connectors with phantom power. The MAT60 adapts these microphones to the unbalanced input of the amplifiers. When in doubt, please contact us for advice.
MAT1 Microphone Adaptor
The MAT1 is intended to interface an unbalanced electret microphone to a balanced microphone input with +15V phantom power such as those found on AMPETRONIC equipment. The unit has unity gain and provides correct bias voltage to the electret microphone.
- Input: 3.5 mm Mono Socket
- Output: XLR Plug
MAT1/DC Microphone Adaptor with external DC supply
The MAT1/DC is intended to interface an unbalanced electret microphone to a balanced microphone input using a separate DC power supply of 12-48 volts (not supplied). The unit has unity gain and provides correct bias voltage to the electret microphone. A matching output plug is supplied with the unit.
- Input: 3.5 mm Mono Socket
- Output: 7 pin DIN Socket
MAT60 Microphone Adaptor
The MAT60 is intended to interface a balanced microphone to an unbalanced electret microphone input such as those found on the AMPETRONIC ILD20 / ILD60 induction loop amplifiers. The unit has unity gain and can provide phantom power to the balanced microphone using a separate external regulated DC power supply of 12-24 volts (not supplied).
- Input: XLR Socket
- Output: 3.5 mm Mono Plug
- DC Power: 2.1 mm DC Power Jack Socket
