AMPETRONIC supplies a small range of microphones for use with Audio Induction Loop equipment. The microphones are mainly for use with the ILD20 counter system or the ILD60 TV room system.
Depending on the requirements, a service counter may need a small microphone that can be fitted to the transparent screen, or to the counter structure as a fairly permanent installation. For this, the Tieclip style microphone is a good solution. In settings with an open counter or desk system, a desk mounted microphone is preferred and we supply such a unit as an alternative. This unit can be mounted via a rotating coupling to the edge of an upright panel.
The tieclip style microphone is omni-directional , while the desk microphone is a directional unit to improve sound pickup without ambient noise. They are designed to obtain power from the host equipment and do not require batteries. They will therefore not work in standalone form with other amplifiers.
While these microphones can be used for conference work, often a smaller, less obtrusive form is needed and the Q400 boundary microphone offers a really small but effective solution. The design is such that it fixes easily to a desk top surface and if the desk can be drilled, the cable can be invisible from the top. This microphone is directional and has a hypercardioid response. This minimizes room reverberation pickup, and provides a cleaner, more intelligible signal.
All these microphones have a single-ended connection, but the MAT1 Adaptor allows them to be used with balanced lines having 15V phantom power.
AMPETRONIC can offer guidance on suitable microphones for specialized applications involving induction loop systems, and can upon request supply microphones from some other manufacturers.
