The MP221 is a four input preamplifier, with two inputs
offering XLR microphone inputs with phantom power, and two inputs providing
balanced line-level inputs. As these inputs use a 6.3 mm jack socket, the
use of stereo or mono plugs enables easy balanced or unbalanced operation.
A single balanced output is provided. The electronically balanced outputs
on the MP221 appear as a transformer style output. One side can be grounded
while the overall gain remains the same.
Individual input gain controls enable the balancing of signal levels.
An overload LED on the front panel warns of internal overload
of any amplifier section. A power-on LED is also provided.
The unit can be rackmounted and requires 1/4 rack width.
A major aspect of the design effort that has been applied to make it immune to Radio Frequency Interference. Novel filtering techniques were developed to ensure performance which meets all regulations.
The preamplifier can be powered directly by AMPETRONIC Loop Drivers, or independently by our PS3 power supply for stand alone applications. Battery pack configuration is available.
